Mt. Paiko day hike

A great full day outdoor escape just 1-hour away from Thessaloniki!

This is a great opportunity to hike on one of the most scenic areas in Northern Greece. We will hike, swim in fresh water lake and taste traditional food and wine all in a single day!

Starting our trip from Thessaloniki we will hike in the cool and shady beech and plane forests of Mt. Paiko. We will reach the top at 1650m altitude and admire the view. For a cool down and recovery of your tired legs, we will swim at the beautiful nearby Lake Skra or Blue lake, as it called, from the nice blue colour of the crystal clear water. A true paradise on earth!

Our day excursion will continue to the traditional town of Goumenissa for a nice meal and some local wine at the town place. This small country town hosts some of the best traditional wineries of the area and we will end up our trip with a visit to one of them.
