A day hike near Athens
Parnitha is one of the first established national parks of Greece. It is a densely forested mountain range north of Athens, the highest on the peninsula of Attica, with an elevation of 1,413 m.
Together with our experienced trail runner and mountain leader Chris you will explore secret trails and if you are lucky enough you might come across some of the wild animals of the area such as deers, foxes, wild goats, tortoise, lizards etc.
At midday you will make a break at a beautiful refuge in the forest to fuel up with a snack and a drink and also taste some local delicacies.
From there you will be able to observe the 2 big mountains which surround Athens, Penteli and Hymettus and on a good day Dirfys in Euboea island is visible.
