The combination of travel services offered to you is a package within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302.
Therefore, you will benefit from all EU rights applying to packages. Hiking Greece will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole. Additionally, as required by law, Hiking Greece has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.

The below terms and conditions, together with the electronic Personal Information Form and any further terms and conditions notified to you by us prior to your entering into a contract with us, will be binding on both Hiking Greece and you once the Personal Information Form is submitted. A contract will exist between the parties once you have made your booking, submitted the Personal Information Form for you and your group if available, paid your deposit and we have sent you our booking confirmation.

Completion and submission by you of our electronic Personal Information Form will be treated by us as confirmation that you have read, understand and accepted all our Terms and Conditions.

All booking must be made by a person aged eighteen years or above. When your booking is for more than one person, the registered person on the booking form aged eighteen years or above will be treated as the lead name for your booking. The lead person will be responsible for making payments and signing all contracts.

1. Payment

You will be notified at the time of the booking for the final price of your trip. After the successful review of your booking reservation you will be notified by e-mail to pay us a 30% deposit of the total quoted trip price unless otherwise specified due to special circumstances or suppliers. Note that the deposit is usually refundable until 90 days before departure, with any bank transaction fees charged to the customers. The remaining balance of the full trip price of the booking should be made at least 60 days prior to departure. In the cases of late booking, which are less than 60 days prior to departure, the quoted trip price is paid at full. Total agreed package amount should be deposited to Hiking Greece bank account in Euro currency in full net of any foreign exchange conversion rate disparities and any bank transfer charges. We accept bank account transfers and Paypal payments. Note, that if you decide to pay with Paypal you will have an additional charge 3.4% for Paypal’s convenience fees.

If the organiser or, in some Member States, the retailer becomes insolvent, payments will be refunded. If the organiser or, where applicable, the retailer becomes insolvent after the start of the package and if transport is included in the package, repatriation of the travellers is secured. Hiking Greece has taken out insolvency protection with YDROGIOS Asfalistiki (contract no. 224076064, http://www.ydrogios.gr)). Travellers may contact this entity or, where applicable, the competent authority (contact details, including name, geographical address, email and telephone number) if services are denied because of Hiking Greece insolvency.

2. Prices Quoted

The price quoted in our trips, brochures, website and promotions are correct at the time of the publications. In the event of any change in our prices to those stated we will notify you prior to accepting your booking. All our prices are quote in euros unless otherwise stated.

The price of the package may only be increased if specific costs rise (for instance fuel prices), and if expressly provided for in the contract, and in any event not later than 20 days before the start of the package. If the price increase exceeds 8 % of the price of the package, the traveller may terminate the contract. If the organiser reserves the right to a price increase, the traveller has a right to a price reduction if there is a decrease in the relevant costs.

(a) Trips

The price quoted in our booking confirmation is guaranteed and includes what is explicitly defined in the booking contract. Additional charges such as dues, taxes or fluctuations in exchange rate will be defined, agreed between the parties and passed on to you.

(b) Minimum trip participants

Some booking or prices are dependent on the number of participants and if this applies to your trip we will notify you at the time of the booking. We reserve the right to make further charges where number of participants falls below those stated in the design and required to qualify for the price offered or any discount or offer stated. We also reserve the right to cancel such a booking in the event that the number of participants falls below the required number at any time up to 30 days prior to your due date of departure.

3. Changes or cancelation by the client

(a) If you wish to make any changes to your booking at any time after our booking confirmation has been issued, we will try to accommodate the changes but cannot guarantee to be able to meet request.

(b) Changes by our suppliers. Many of our suppliers such as ferry companies, airlines or hotels sometimes do not permit us to change names or travel dates due to availability and impose us cancelation charges or full payment penalty. We will pass these on to you in addition to any administration charge, where applicable and defined before any charge occurs.

(c) If you wish to cancel after our booking confirmation sheet has been issued and send to you, we will require it in writing by the lead person. The cancellation charges as defined below will apply. We will not refund to you any non-refundable deposits, administration charges, insurance premiums or any other related fees. We strongly advise you that along with travel insurance you also take out insurance to cover for cancelation.

If a major change is needed due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you in writing as soon as possible and you will have the following options:

–  to agree to changes and accept the impact including any change in price, or

If any changes occur prior to your departure we will advise you immediately. We will not pay compensation or accept any liability where any change is due to circumstances outside or our reasonable control, including strikes, lock outs, labor dispute, acts of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, adverse weather conditions, flight delays and other matters affecting traffic control, terrorism or security alerts.

We also reserve the right to cancel any trip if sign-up is inadequate to make the trip economically feasible for us to operate, and in this event, we give a full refund of the trip price. However, Hiking Greece is not responsible for additional expenses incurred by you in preparing for the trip (e.g., non-refundable air tickets, visa fees if applicable, gear or medical expenses).

6. Our liability to you

If you feel that any part of your holiday arrangement is not provided as promised, you must, as soon as possible, notify Hiking Greece. You must provide us with details in writing at your earliest convenience.

Where we have failed to properly perform our obligations while you are still on holiday we will endeavor to organize suitable alternatives at no extra cost to you. Travelers are also entitled to a price reduction and/or compensation for damages where the travel services are not performed or are improperly performed.

Hiking Greece will provide assistance if the traveler is in difficulty. We accept no liability for any personal injury, death of you or any of your group during your holiday by any act or omission

7. Your responsibility

(a) It is your responsibility to ensure that you have valid passports, appropriate visas and vaccinations where appropriate.

(b) You are responsible for ensuring that any existing medical conditions or disabilities, which may require assistance, are declared during the booking process so we proactively take the necessary measures.

(c) You are responsible for your behavior and that of your party. We reserve the right to refuse travel, accommodation or any part of the holiday if you or any member of the group is drunk, violent, using drugs or behaves dangerously. In this case, no refund will be given or compensation paid. In this case that claims are made by any third party in result of misbehavior as defined above, you have the sole responsibility to settle them.

The excursions and activities (mainly outdoor) operated by the Hiking Greece are suitable for most of the general public. Participants need a basic level of fitness (unless the program states another level of fitness), team – work mentality and the ability to follow instructions. However despite all our efforts to keep a high standard of safety, there is always an element of risk of personal injury or even death, given the nature of outdoor activities and the client by bying the tour acknowledges and accepts this risk.

The responsibility of Hiking Greece is limited to ensure that all the necessary equipment and experienced guides are provided for the tour and that the safest routes are the chosen ones.
